So I experimented with this look today and I think I like it. My friend Lindsey suggested that I need to put a bit more Carnivore, on, higher up to really open up my eyes. It seems to be a nice fall look, but I'm not sure if I will wear it tomorrow with my purple dress or not. Since I have silver nails, I may go with silver and purple on the eyes as well. I definitely think that nice MAC MA was right about Creme de Violet and a copper/orange/brown/red sort of color looking good together. The coppery color on the eye looks great with the copper echoed in the dazzleglass.
What do you think?

Gorgeous! Hey, do you know how often Meow runs sales? I want to buy some full sizes but also want to maximize savings if there might be a sale coming up. I recently spent a serious fortune on their f/s Halloween e/s and other goodies. Beautiful, rich colors.
You are artistic and do a lot of your own creations...have you ever checked out bulk ingredients from TKB Trading and attempted your own e/s blending? I discovered TKB recently since I love AL ultra res powder but saw that it was made solely from silica as THE LONE INGREDIENT - I did a search for cosmetic grade silica and low and behold, came across TKB supplier. They sell raw ingredients for mmu fillers, additives, colorants, pigments, etc. Pretty cool. So of course I had to place a huge order. I was absolutely SHOCKED to discover that they sell a full 4 OUNCES of cosmetic grade silica for a mere $11.90 - !!! Say WHAT?? I also bought bulk silk powder and other additives as well as some colored mica and oxide blends ($1.50 for 1 TABLESPOON sample) and their Pop! Mica eyeshadow blending kit...it matches the color wheel so you can match any eyeshow you might already have. If nothing else I will have some fun, but I hope the quality is comparable enough that I'll be able to save some serious cash. I plan on leaving the foundation blending to Meow, but for some of these colorless primers and finishing powders, hey, if I can buy the same ingredients in bulk and get comparable results it seems like a no-brainer.
I love your new purse and dress! And yes, the SILVER nails are a fab go-with. Kudos to your hubby on the purse find...my hubby is totally in tune to my tastes as well...about a year ago I was desperate for a new purse and couldn't find a nice one at a good price...when he stumbled upon a fantastic black leather one with red interior that was just perfect - just enough compartments and pockets to be helpful but still w/room for bulkier items without being overwhelming. It's divine to have a spouse with an eye for the finer things! He also honed right in on COVEN e/s on my armful of swatches, saying it was an absolute must have - yes it is! I've seen how well you've done w/Coven too...isn't it great?
Anyway, here I've gone on and on - sorry!!! - but had a lot to say that I thought you'd find interesting. :) "Talk" soon!!! /JR
Meow tends to run sales around holidays, so I'm waiting for there to be one at the end of this month. Also, sometime in the near future they're going to start offering a smaller size for their eye shadows, which I am eagerly awaiting. Their colors are definitely gorgeous.
I've never tried to buy bulk eye shadows. I do make custom blends of Aromaleigh or Meow stuff though, but it's mostly tweaking a color, making it darker, etc not creating something from scratch. I'm not sure that I could do that on my own.
I'm glad you like the purse, dress and nails! I'm hoping that I'll look good :) And yay for you having a great husband, too.
Yes, I adore coven. It's one of those versatile and must have colors for me.
I have been doing a lot of crafting on my own lately. I set up my own Etsy store and have been making necklaces. You should take a peek and tell me what you think :)
And always, please comment or email! I love hearing from you.
Hi!!! I did check out your Etsy store - very cool to have your own boutique, congratulations!! :) Lovely merch! I'm feeling very out of touch with my creative side...
I also am loving your friends' posts at Don't be a Makeup Chicken - smart, sassy, fun, real!
I don't see an option onscreen to email or pm you...do I have to be a blogger.com member to get that option on my screen? Right now I'm completely nomadic and don't have membership on any of the boards I visit except makeupalley (and even there I didn't do a profile)...
But I'm starting to see there are a lot of cool people and interesting conversations/ideas afoot in cyberspace - maybe I should take the next commitment step lol! /JR
I have a gmail.com account set up for this, which is decorative.diva at gmail dot com.
Thanks for the compliments on my Ornate Oddities stuff :)
And yes, Marianne at Makeup Chicken is hilarious. She's a local friend.
Cool, will make a note of it :) /JR
